Burnt Mountain Center, Inc. (BMC), is a private nonprofit organization, governed by a board of directors, and recognized as an organization exempt for Federal income tax under section 501(c)3 of the Internal Revenue code. In practice BMC follows applicable standards of the Georgia Department of Human Resources. BMC is accredited by CARF, The Rehabilitation Accreditation Commission. CARF is a private, not-for profit organization that accredits programs and services. CARF accreditation means BMC has passed an indepth review of it’s services and endorsements of conformance to nationally and internationally recognized service standards. It is the Mission of Burnt Mountain Center to advocate and provide services and support to individuals with disabilities and their families that enhance their quality of life and to help them discover and move toward their own desirable personal futures while providing needed help in ways that protect and promote valued experiences for them now.
